For a long time, thrifting was something I didn’t care for after I arrived in America. What was shocking was that, all my life prior to coming here, we thrifted. Most of my clothes, shoes etc. were all second hand, gently used.
So, it was after I started getting serious about money was when I aggressively thrifted and it was the best decision of my life. I have saved so much doing this and now as a home owner, I am still applying it to all the things I have inside my home. I don’t remember the last time I paid full price for anything.
If you read my blog, then you already know I am in Guilford, CT. I love this town and state very much although many disagree with me. That is something next we shall talk about more on a later date. My top spots here for thrifting are Craiglist.org and the Goodwill in Westport, CT. With these two places, you best believe you’d be getting some fine expensive things.
Below are the four best things I have thrifted that I love, love so much. I also made a video about it which you can see here.
The first is this couch here. This couch was purchased from Raymond and Flanigan by a couple I found on Craigslist. They had only owned it for a few months and decided to sell since they were getting a divorce. I ended up getting it for dirt cheap. I paid $350 for it.
The second item I bought that I love was this dining set. It was initial listed for $250 but I ended paying $100 for the entire thing. All I did to give it a fresh new look was to spray paint it and also re-fabric the cushions.
The third item I bought that absolutely love are these estate planters. My goodness, I got these for $10 each and got about seven. I have already sold one and have six.
The last item are these little urns shown here on my kitchen counter. I paid $5 each for them.
Just look at these items. Anyone reading this right now can definitely find a good use for one of these single items that I paid less for.
In conclusion, thrifting is for the people who are very savvy with money and know what their end goal is. If you haven’t yet, start TODAY!!!!!!!
