DISCLAIMER: MESSY KITCHEN INCOMING PLUS NOT A PROFESSIONAL WRITER.
Ok, I am like all of you people or better yet, most of you out there. You are laying down on a lazy day, scrolling through all these gorgeous Instagram and blog posts of gorgeous kitchens. These are spotless and stunning. Even the kitchen window has you staring out to a water feature or some gorgeous marsh. You stare deeply and then open another incognito window to check what the lottery wining numbers have been after briefly checking your bank balance. For a brief moment, you picture yourself winning, ” you say to yourself, I too can have that but I shall add my own touch to it “. Yeah, if wishes were horses, I leave you to complete it haha..
And if winning the lottery was not enough to quench whatever feeling came about browsing through these gorgeous posts, you picture yourself on American Greed. My friends, if you haven’t seen it, you need to. In this episode, you are seen on surveillance camera robbing a bank. Not even bothering with the tellers but the main vault to avoid a dye pack (can you tell I am addicted to crime shows?), you make off with all this money in the hopes of getting that perfect instagram kitchen. Yeahhhhhhhh baby as you flog hundreds in the air after escaping briefly from the clutches of the FBI and throwing out your fake disguise (not for long though because believe me, you are going to get caught).
As you gulp your coffee, it being cold snaps you back to reality hahaha.. Oh my..You look into the mug and there is no coffee as you have drank it all dreaming unconsciously and behaving badly. You naughty you! You get up to make more coffee, and realize there are no more k-cups either. In this moment you are jolted and reminded, that picture in the magazine was just a dream. Yes, a dream……..
And the longer you stare at having no K-cups, the more you realize how your kitchen cabinets suck. Your mind briefly takes you to the picture in the magazine. You begin to dream again albeit more realistic this time around thus, hacks.
What if? Just what if? This is where the brain shows you how powerful it come be. I find that, my brain is at its most powerful when I need a solution. It is something I can’t explain in-depth. As you seek solutions, the brain actually comes up with all these ideas and forces you to research. You watch videos to replicate what you desire. I find myself binging on videos curled up with a glass of wine. Deciphering what I want and what I don’t want and then it led me to Rustoleum.. Wooooooooooooo.
For less than $100, I also a can have my kitchen cabinets of my dreams as along as I am willing to do all the work. Say whattttttttt? Wowww.. Simply amazing I tell you. For every expensive way of doing things, there are different other ways to do it for less.
Which brings me to my cabinet. I wanted to be independent and when I bought my place in 2016, I realized afterwards it was far, far more costly than I anticipated. Yes, silly me but we all live and learn. Hence, I resorted to hacks to help me out. The first stop was my kitchen. I used rustoleum which is shown below and has changed the entire look of my kitchen. Original purchase came from Home Depot at their East Haven, CT location.
P.S. Do not be afraid to go alone. Trust your gut and like Nike said “JUST DO IT”

I used party cups as support for the doors as depicted in the pictures. This was such a fun project and I urge you to try it. Home updates do not have to be very expensive. Thank you so much and hope you subscribe to my youtube channel as well for more.
